<h1>Beef Stroganoff</h1>
<p>This dish gets its origins from 19th century Russia. Consists of juicy sautéed beef and mushrooms served in a rish
sauce with smetana or sour cream. Usually served with noodles or rice. </p>

<h1>Ingredients</h1>
<ul>
<li> 1 pound beef(chuck,round,flank or really any type of cut, can also use ground if that's all you have)
<li> 3 ounces cooking oil
<li> 1 white onion
<li> 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
<li> 1 (10.5 ounce) can condensed beef broth(optional but recommended)
<li> 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
<li> 5 oz fresh mushrooms sliced or 1 can sliced mushrooms, drained
<li> 1/3 cup sour cream or smetana
<li> 1/3 cup white wine
<li> salt to taste
<li> ground black pepper to taste
<li> 2 oz chopped parsley(optional)
<li> 1 cup white rice or 8 oz pasta noodles

<h1>Directions</h1>
<p>Remove any fat and gristle from the beef and cut into strips 1/2 inch thick by 2 inches long. Season with
salt and pepper.
In a large skillet over high heat, add 2 ounces of the oil and sear the beef strips quickly on each side,
about 30 sec each side. Place the beef in a bowl.
<p>Lower heat to medium. Add the onions and mushrooms(if using fresh)cook for 4 to 5 minutes return the beef to
the pan. Stir the flour into the pan. Pour in beef broth(or water if you don't have the broth) and bring to
a boil, stirring constantly.
<p>Lower heat to low and stir in mustard. Simmer with lid off for about 15 min or until the meat is tender.
While it's simmering perpare your noodles/rice.
<p>Five minutes before serving, stir the sour cream and white wine into your beef. Season with salt and pepper
to taste. Add your rice/noodles to your plates, top with stroganoff, and garnish with chopped parsley if you
have some.
